So A kwai declared:

On Interpreter.

I am a willow living in Street: a block of houses near Aberdeen my home is in Sokwawan. About 244 days ago, about 4 pm, I went on board a launch. After she started, a green and white launch came alongside. Six men came on board from the white launch. The green launch started again towards a man o' war. There I jumped overboard. A boat was hailed; it came alongside. The man was picked up and pulled up to the side. Three men put him in a cabin. The launch started again and got to Kowloon City, bamboo wharf, about dark. There the man was carried ashore; a bamboo was between his legs and one behind his knees, some men caught him by the legs. One man took him by the queue and went to shore. I went on shore there to my daughter's. The man on board who dragged the man into the boat, with some men from shore, took the man ashore at Kowloon, the first I saw of the man who jumped overboard was when he went on board the white launch; the man had on a dark cotton jacket and blue cotton trousers. I did not know him. I very seldom go home. I came to Hongkong the 5th moon of this year. I used to live in Sokwawan. The man who jumped overboard was among the six who came on board from the white launch. I will swear I never saw the man who jumped overboard, U A-fung, before this. I saw him going to board the white launch while I was sitting in the green launch. Both launches were at the same wharf.
