Enclosure
104
I recommend that a vote be applied for of $11,500 at the next meeting of the Legislative Council to defray the cost of a strong retaining wall along the face of the cliff which is now nearly perpendicular, and also to meet the minor cost of other contingent works in connexion with the site.
If there are completed, they will put an end to further landslips below the Hospital, and will place the latter and surroundings beyond risk of an accident.

(Signed) W. H. Marsh,
The Officer administering the Government recommends the Council to vote the sum of $11,500, the estimated cost of constructing a strong granite retaining wall along the northern face of the cliff upon which the Government Hospital buildings are built.
The last rainstorm having caused a serious landslip along the cliff, which is now nearly perpendicular, it is requisite to put the Hospital as well as the buildings and the road below beyond the risk of serious accident that might be entailed by another landslip.
