Sang Dat declared. I am the master of the boat "Hour Ling"; my boat travels to and from Victoria, éfeng Hou, and Chinese Kauling. On the 10th instant, I left Victoria at about 5 pm. I had about 60 passengers, consisting of coolies, workmen, and some Chinese Officials.
One man was an official, because he told me he had business of importance with the head Mandarin at Kaulung, and he and those with him wanted to get there as quickly as possible. On account of what they said, I did not touch at Hung Hom, but went straight to Kaulung. When we got there, the Officials and about 30 passengers landed.
