Hongkong, 24th October, 1886.

I have the honour to inform you that another gross violation of the territorial rights of this Colony has just been committed by some Chinese.

Chinese Officials, who boarded a steam ferry boat in the waters of the Colony, seized a passenger and took him forcibly to Kowloon City, where he was last night beheaded, although strong remonstrance had been addressed to the Viceroy by Her Majesty's Consul at Canton on the 13th instant, and demand had been made for his immediate release.
