With reference to any predecessors,
Circular desp of the 4th instant, I have the honour to enquire in which of the local Banks the sum of $250,000 referred to at par. 3 of your despatch. no.324 of 5th Oct. has been deposited, and in what proportion the amount has been divided between this and the other Banks.
We understand that they have employed the new Oriental Banking Corporation, which is not Chartered, and against the rules, without previous sanction fee of State was obtained.
