There
is a Colonial Surgeon
and Inspector of Hospitals paid at
the rate of $2,880 per annum,
with
a personal allowance of $200 per
annum,
compensation for loss of fees for granting
Bills of Health, $288 per annum, and $864 per
annum paid into Treasury.
He is allowed
conveyance, and is ex officio Inspector of the Lock Hospital; he is also allowed private practice; a Superintendent of the Civil Hospital paid at the rate of $3,000 per annum, and provided with quarters, but not allowed private practice; a Health
and Medical Inspector of Emigrants, at the rate of $2,000 per annum,
Officer
paid $1,200 per annum, and a
personal allowance in lieu of fees for Bills of Health,
now
paid into the Treasury, with the right to private practice; a Resident Surgeon of the Lock Hospital paid at the rate of $1,800 per
annum, and provided with quarters, but not allowed private
practice.
