From July 1874 to 9 Feb. 1895, M. Parker appears to have been acting Registration Clerk in the place of the permanent holder of the office, M.C. Bmund, so that period should properly be taken into account for the purpose of W. Parker's pension, as it might have been if the appointment had been vacant at the time.

I can therefore caution only that a pension at the rate of five hundred and seventy-seven dollars and three cents (being 16/30 of the total emoluments) from the 17th of August 1885.

P.S. The Crown Agents have received instructions to issue W. Parker's pension at the abovementioned rate.
