The Governor has requested me to forward the enclosed further memorial addressed to Your Lordship, which does not appear to require any explanations beyond those given in my despatch above quoted to which I beg respectfully to refer.

I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of a reply through the Colonial Secretary of this Colony to my letter to your Lordship of the 28th December 1885 and for which I am obliged.

If your Lordship will refer to my letter again, your Lordship will see I have not asked that the existing arrangements regarding the Servants of the Crown in the Colony be altered - that I personally can have nothing whatever to do with - but what I consider I have a right to complain of is, as I have already stated in my letter to your Lordship, that Mr. Ackroyd, the Land Officer, should have been allowed to sit on the Bench and decide that a Lease issuing from the Land Office ...
