Police reports of the Triad Society to date are that the Members are thoroughly frightened, and that most of the remaining leaders have gone into hiding?
also for Your Lordship's information a letter from the Captain Superintendent of Police reporting that a Constable believed to be a member of the Triad Society had offered to give security to the extent of $1000 for his good behaviour. This Constable is reported to have called out to another constable who started in pursuit of the murderers of the blind man (referred to in para. 6 of my despatch 1204 instant), warning him that he would not get promotion by capturing one of the Society's men; whereupon the latter desisted.
