The Chamber of Commerce recommend also that, as the German Gloyds Steamship Company has contracted for the conveyance of mails to China at a speed of 12 Knots, the Company might, in consideration of the contract being accepted for ten years, undertake that their vessels would adopt the same speed between Suez and China, instead of 11½ Knots. They also ask that some reduction should be made in the amount now contributed by the Colony.
