as I might reasonably have expected to be, I should have been entitled to reckon 40 years service, viz 39 years actual service + one year for unhealthy climate: 40/1350 the salary of the Colonial Secretary - $900.
I beg also to submit that I was asked by the Colonial Office to go to Hongkong and did not apply for the transfer.
I have the honor to annex hereto for your Lordship's consideration a statement of my services since I left Mauritius, prepared in the Audit Office.
