I was on the chaingang about duly last year and I heard a prisoner saying that the Superintendent was going to shoot him. After the assault, his brother, a member of the Triad Society to which he belongs, assaulted me.

I don't know whether he would still be in prison. Nobody is the leading goal. I don't know whether the Triad Society is still active or not. All prisoners seem to obey him. Prisoners with numbers such as A1244, 12, 3, 75, 2, 8 are all part of the society.

I was asked to subscribe and pay money to him. They asked me to pay over but I did not pay and I was assaulted by them as a consequence. I reported the assaults to the Superintendent, and a search was made. They found out that I had tobacco, and other things. Out of the 600 prisoners, $400 are part of the Triad society.

I recognised them by their calling each other brothers. Savy, now a cook and a prisoner in prison, is one of the leaders of the Society. Some tell; perhaps some are offered. Some of the signs are: (1) queue wound round the head from left to right, some portion hanging down; (2) part of the corner of the coat tucked in.

Mok A kap is a member. No prisoner sentenced for life is not a member. I am a member of the Triad Society which was established here very recently, about 4½ years ago. I have been in prison for ten years.
