I am directed by His Excellency the Governor of the Straits Settlements to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 27th ultimo, No 1197, asking for information as regards the Registration of Secret Societies in the Straits Settlements and to state in reply that His Excellency has much pleasure in transmitting to you copies of each of the Ordinances (XIX of 1869, I of 1882, and II of 1885) dealing with the subject.
