Statement to the Acting Registrar General.
Lam Tai @ 2, Western Market.
In the month of October last, this Lam Tai, reported at the Registrar General's Office that he had lost the license for No. 17 Western Market, and requested that a duplicate might be issued to him.
The Acting Registrar General thinking that the applicant was the original holder of the license and having ascertained that it had been the practice to issue duplicate when the original license being lost, gave instructions for the issue of a duplicate license.
But scarcely had the license been issued when it was brought to the notice of the Acting Registrar General that the applicant, this Lam Tai, was not the original holder of the license, who ...
