Now the extract of the Register, which Register is prima facie evidence of the fact stated therein; it appears that Chii Kam-fong had a valid licence. (As the extract now comes under my notice, I must call attention to an entry struck off by order of the Attorney General, 18th Jany 1888). The Register is not legally conclusive; but, under the circumstances I should doubt the expediency of resisting Chii Kam-fong's claim on the strength of such explorations as the clerk may give. Perhaps it would be better to try and settle with the lessee in a friendly way.
