Enclosure H.

230

(Lopez)

Early.

Hon: Acting Colonial Secretary.

With reference to letter No. 1528 of the 6th instant, I had the honour to request that I may be informed if the stalls, &c., in the various markets are to revert to Government on the death of the original lessee, or whether the license for such were granted before or after the Notification of the 28th November 1882, issued by Mr. Russell.

2. It is referred to in my letter of the 21st ultino. If Lan 182 is to revert to Government, I presume there is no objection to allowing Chii Kom-fong to carry on business in it till the 30th instant, as the rent for the current month has been already paid.

I. H. Stewart for Acting Registrar General

November 7th 1885.
