I duly beg to inform you that I have received your letter. Formerly my father carried on the business of Sau-lan with Ching Cheung Leung and Chii Kam-fong, who were in partnership. On account of a bad leg, he retired to his native country, and the capital he invested in the Ching Cheung Lyng shop was withdrawn, so that the business of the Ching Cheung Lyng shop was entirely left to the management of Chii Kam-fong. Unfortunately my father died on the 22nd of the 7th moon. Before he died, he still said that the business of the Ching Cheung Lyng shop was entirely in the hands of Chii Kam-fong, and that everything should be referred to him, who could give all information. I, therefore, write to you in reply.
