Jones Takow to study under the able superintendence of Dr Wykeham Myers. Dr. Myers brought his Students over to Hong Kong to pass a preliminary examination, which was conducted by Deputy Surgeon-General Hungerford, MP, President and General Director of the Examination;— Anatomy, Dr Patrick Manson and Staff Surgeon Preston, RML;— Surgery, the Colonial Surgeon and Dr Gerlach;— Chemistry, Dr Ho Kai.

They passed in a very creditable manner in the different subjects. It is the intention of Dr Myers to take these Students to Shanghai in two years' time to pass their second examination before a Board, the composition of which will be totally different from that of the one which has just examined them. I doubt not that the introductory remarks of Dr Wykeham Myers on the occasion of the presentation of the Certificates
