Sub Enclosure C
REGE 16 JUL 86
Police Office,
Hongkong, 27 May, 1885.
With reference to remanded case No. 432, now pending at the Police Court, I have the honour to report that a man named Lokong, prisoner No. 217 is charged with conspiring with 3 other men to defeat the ends of justice by receiving bribes not to interfere with Tee Fa Lotteries.
It appears to me to be essentially a case, in which, if any satisfactory result is to arise from a Criminal prosecution, the Crown Solicitor should be instructed to attend at the Police Court and conduct the case which stands adjourned until Wednesday, 3rd June next at 10 am.
I have the honour to be,
Captain Superintendent of Police,
M. Deane
To the Hon'ble Mr. H. Marsh,
Colonial Secretary
