Ou duty in Hollywood Road. With regard to the words "Wednesday morning" P.C. 278 bears the name of Lave Chime and on Wednesday the 20th May he was on duty from 8am to 10am. Post which is in front of the Mean Mo Temple.
Package B3 bears his name.
With regard to the words "his name", 2011 I find described thus (read from Section book, page 18) "This beat is in the neighbourhood of Tank Lane. The greater part of the Not Section No 11 beat constables named in the list ▲ have been at their several beats for a week." The 2nd defendant is an ex-Police Constable.
No question.
Teik declared states: "I am a coolie living in East Street. On the 10th May at 11am I was standing at the entrance of Man Hing Lane, I saw a number of Lokongs, over 10 in number, go inside Man Hing Lane and I saw some of them pay money to the defendant. This is the first time I have seen the constables receive money purposely."
I went there to see this with my own eyes. The Constables were in plain clothes. I knew them to be Constables by having seen them on duty. I do not know the 1st defendant. They were all Chinese Constables. There were no Europeans or Sikhs there.
To our Hokton: "I live in East Street. I have been a Police informer for some time and I got my living partly by informing. I saw that it was money the defendant gave."
I cannot swear that I saw the 1st defendant exactly. I cannot recognize the men again. So to the Court: "I cannot re-recognize them because I cannot remember who were there. There were so many people."
