If all the suggestions of the recently appointed Land Commission be carried out, Mr. Shepherd's duties will probably be increased, but not to undue extent; and I would suggest that if his application be granted, it be on the understanding that he will, besides his present duties, perform without increase of salary any addition to them which the Land Commission may recommend.
