I have been able to judge the duties of Clerk of Deed Registry are not very onerous or difficult; they are, however, of a responsible nature, for he would have to bear the consequences of any mistake in registration. To perform them properly, and give satisfaction to the public, not only are care and attention required in the examination of the deeds and documents brought for registration, but also a fair knowledge of conveyancing and a practical acquaintance with these matters.
