It is hard on me, but I have been compelled to spend 2 years on a useless language; I cannot see that we can go on supplying a teacher to enable him to keep up a language that is not likely to be of any use to him.
I think some provision must be made to teach him Cantonese that will be useful to him, or that Mr. Smith should be making...
