with reference to Cheung Achi than Cheung Achi 30000 a yo. 370 And yet though Intervened that they both came down with other witnesses against Cheung Achi in the S. S. "Whales," they are not called to give evidence against Cheung Achi but kept back for the present case in which their evidence is very very unsatisfactory.
4th The witness Kiong Tiong (Cheung Akong) who appeared as a witness against Cheung Achi is called to give evidence against the prisoner, but though apparently acquainted with the prisoner is really unable to give evidence telling against him. With reference to the evidence of this witness I would incidentally draw the attention of His Excellency to certain statements made by him which corroborate the view I took in Cheung Achi's case with reference to the want of satisfactory proof as to the death of Ko-Sat. I refer to page 20 of the depositions.
Finally though I wish to express too strong an opinion one way or the other after hearing the witnesses in this case, I was dissatisfied with the evidence and the manner in which it was given than in the case of Cheung Achi.
