8. A scheme for articling six Pupil Teachers for a period of three years to provide efficient Chinese Assistants for the New School was approved by the Secretary of State, and will be put into execution aspoon as the Building is really commenced.
9. It has been a source of great disappointment to see the erection of the New School suspended for the past nine months, and it is earnestly to be wished that the present year may see this work pushed forward as the injury done to the advancement of education by its delay cannot be over- estimated.
