On the 21st May last,
Mr Hinerck applied for four months'
leave
of
absence under Sections 119
and 120
of
the Colonial Office

to
Regulations. M. Krice, in forwarding the application, pointed out that the Regulations did not apply Mr. Hancock, who was specially engaged by the Crown Agents
in
1883, for a specifie purpose, namely,
three
years service as a
Land

Surveyor
-
Surveyor in the Vublic Works Department
in this Colony.

Mr. Price further pointed
out that Mr Hancock had not given
him that satisfaction in the performance of his duties which would warrant a recommendation
.on
his part for the granting of the indulgence asked for. "His appointment, - he added," has turned out a fiasco;
