to Victoria Gaol, vice Mr Gee
deceased.
There were five (5)
candidates
for this vacancy, of whom
A.Q. Machado had much the strongest claims, as he had already been in the Government
Service for many years,
and was recommended for promotion
by his immediate superiors. I
am assured that he is in
every way fit for the place.
