On the morning of November 1868, I saw a number of men armed with swords and guns coming towards the front of my house. We closed the front door. They tried to force the front door but could not, then they went to the back door, and broke it open and fired shots at us. I do not know who fired the shots but I heard them. Four or five children were hurt, I do not know if they were killed. My sister-in-law was killed and her 3 children. They were killed by shots, I did not see them killed. I saw them lying down but I do not know how they were killed.

Yenny Mani Young Fong and their grandfather were armed with swords and came into the house. Then I went away and know nothing more. I ran away with some of my children. A few tenants were amongst the attacking party.
