Report on Ordinance No 9 of 1884
I have examined the accompanying Ordinance being an Ordinance entitled The Criminal Procedure Amendment Ordinance, 1884, and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's Instructions.
This Ordinance amends Ordinance No 23 of 1883 in accordance with the views expressed in the Secretary of State's dispatch of 11th May 1883 (758).
I repeal as much of the previous Law as required that informations should be filed 8 days before trial and that notice should be given to the accused 5 days before trial.
