The Tytar works, his salary being defrayed from the vote for "Other Charges" under the head "Contingent Account."
The post of second Clerk at the Magistracy, rendered vacant by the transfer of Mr. Bhawani Fook, has been filled by the appointment of Ms. Ng Yiu Shing, the third Clerk thereto, the latter being replaced by Mr. Chan Yat Wing, second assistant at Central School.
The reduction in the salary of the third Clerk at the Magistracy from $1440 to $1050 per annum, has been effected in consequence of a recommendation by the Magistrates to that effect; formerly the high rate of pay granted having been, in their opinion, awarded on the presumption that the post would be held by a European.
