the Surveyor General, to the Colony, from absence on leave,
a strong representation was
made by him to the Government
urging the desirability of returning Mr Chan A Fuk to
his Department where his
services were
urgently required
Mr Chan A Fuk's request having been
approved by the Officer Administering
the Government, Mr Chan
A Fuk returned to the
Surveyor General's Department,
his salary being made equal
to that received by him while
in the service of the Magistracy
by the payment of a sum of $90
per month from the vote
of the Surveyor General's Department,
and $30 per month from vote
for Water Works, on which he was
employed. Mr Goulbourn
was also retained, on the
representation of the Surveyor
General
