This Resolution was seconded by the Senior Unofficial Member (Mr Kyrie); supported by another Unofficial Member (Mr. Sassoon); and carried unanimously.
I annex an abbreviated but substantially accurate Report extracted from the local Press, of the discussion on this subject in the Legislative Council; if indeed it can be called a discussion, when there was no difference of opinion whatsoever.
From the few remarks which I felt it my duty to make, it will be seen that I expressly stated that I did not desire to impose my opinion on the official Members, who were left perfectly free to vote according to their own individual views.
