he would have had previously; and, in fact, leaves his pecuniary position untouched. It was a main object of the framers of the Will to respect, as far as possible, any quasi-vested rights which may have sprung up during the years when the Colony was without any Ordinance of Medical Registration.

The Board has been formed so as to represent, as far as possible, all the interests affected by the Ordinance. Mr. Keswick and Mr. Jackson are two prominent Unofficial Members of the Legislative Council, Mr. Dalrymple, a merchant of high standing and intelligence who has before now been recommended to the Secretary of State for a future seat in the Legislative Council, represents the general body of the citizens altogether free from official restraint. The Principal Naval and Military Medical Officers bring to the Board a high standard of professional knowledge free from any possible imputation of professional jealousy or rivalry.
