9. With regard to financial considerations, I may remark that Mr Osmund as Registration Clerk draws $1,440 a year, with a personal allowance of $480. The salary of the First Clerk is $2,160. If my proposal is agreed to, Mr Osmund might get $2,160 a year, with $240 as a personal allowance, in order to make his pay equal to that of Mr Gerrard, who had a personal allowance of $1,220 to make his income equivalent to £500 a year.
