of the Hong Kong Police,

presently

on leave of absence

in England, may probably not return

to this Colony, they

most respectfully

in that event, to offer myself

as a Candidate

for the post of Captain

Superintendent

of the Police,

I have the honour to state

that I am at present acting

as Superintendent to the Force, having been appointed

such in June 1883.

I served in Hong Kong during

1876, 7, and 8, and

I served

in the 28th Regiment

and

as Captain

for about

a month I acted

as Superintendent

of the Gaol during the absence in England
