To assist the Harbour Master in his several duties of Harbour Master, marine magistrate, Emigration and Customs officer, and to undertake the whole of these duties during the Harbour Master's absence.

A naval Officer under 40 years of age could best perform these duties.

$1,920.

Salary as Collector of Light dues. 5/6/2" to about £445-Stg.

$2,400, equal to about £480-Stg.

Fee of $5 for each examination of masters & mates, mercantile marine. Average $255 annually.

Himself and two Sureties jointly and severally bound.

Entitled to free passage from England.
