that a letter be written to the Crown Agents requesting them to institute further enquiry into the practical working of Payer's Passeur Destructor and of Lyon's Patent Steam Disinfecters, and if the result of their enquiries be satisfactory that an apparatus complete of each kind be sent out to the Colony.

7. The quantity of daily solid town refuse to be treated amounts to 84 tons, and if the Crown Agents discover that an apparatus of six cells is unable to cope with this amount, it will be necessary to add to the number of cells.

I would however be disposed to recommend, if any doubt exist as to the destructive capabilities of the cells, that a larger number be created to begin with and that the number be increased as experience may dictate.
