Cave most pleasure in intimating You, that I

7. Mr. Figg has been an Assistant at our establishment for the last ten years, during which time he has excelled throughout the whole mark of that establishment. He encloses a
Testimonial from the Director of that Observatory, which gives information also as to his Character. 5. In case the Earl of Derby has not
made his final selection I would re-
commend Mr. Figg as a candidate for the
best auspicious for an Assistant. I should be most happy if his services could be thoroughly
secured as an Assistant, as he would be most suitable
in every respect.
7. If his Lordship sanctions the appointment of this candidate, it would not be
necessary for him to undergo much training,
as he will not require it immediately.
10. I shall be glad to become personally acquainted with Mr. Figg during the time he shall be at the Kew Observatory,
by his Lordship's directions.
