the information before his Lordship is not sufficient to enable him to determine whether you are entitled to retire as Special Police.
12. It will therefore be necessary to obtain a further report from the Colony, and in the meantime the Crown Agents will be instructed to ensure to you an alimentary allowance equivalent to the pension for which you had been recommended, viz: $227-50 per annum.
This allowance will commence from the date of this letter and will be in lieu of the half salary which you are now drawing.
