prepared from somewhat scanty data. It was desirable to do so in order that the Surveyor General might have some guide for the Praya Works. I learn however that the actual observations for January 1883 agree fairly with the predictions.

A complete year's observations is now available and should be worked out so as to avoid the repetition of error again.

I learn that the Astronomer to the Hong-Kong Observatory is appointed. It might be well to place him in communication with Mr Roberts.
