In reply my second letter Ho Chinese Company has again applied to Government for permission to lay cable across harbour. Must wait reply before any arrangements could be made.

Should reply be favourable Chinese Company might arrange to take over cable land line.

Superintendent Hongkong to Extension Company

Messages addressed to Canton handed to launch. Chinese Company refuse to accept messages at their office on mainland. They signal Hong Kong office origin of messages to hand them. Copies posted as usual.
