of Certain sites for works of Defence at Hong Kong, I am directed by the Secretary of State for War
to acquaint you, for the information of the Earl of Derby, that as the Colony is unable to give the assistance suggested in the letter from this Office dated 10th March 1883 (Hong Kong, 85), with the view of Expediting the necessary Surveys, the completion of those in progress by The Royal Engineer Department at Hong Kong is to
be awaited.
