scale of excise duties which the Siamese Government propose to levy upon spirits under the
Agreement between Great Britain and Siam of the 6th of April 1885, copies of which accompanied the letter from this Department of the 9th of that month.
In laying these papers before the Earl of Derby I am to request
that you will state to His Lordship
that the Board of Trade, which department has been consulted in the matter, have stated that they have no objections to offer to the scale of excise duties proposed to be levied by the Siamese government, which is equal to about 4 shillings per gallon.
