Mr Pinder papan that, admitting the Wa Hop Co ought to have similar privileges to those granted to the Eastern Extension Co at Woosung Shanghai, points out what those privileges are viz. the Cot Cable is landed at Woosung whence the messages are
conveyed to Shanghai by a land line owned by the
Chinese, for which the English Cott has
to pay a large sum;
and adds that at
Foochow they have not been allowed to land their cable at all.
