Extasion Company.

Lord Bally proposes, if their Lordships agree,

to send M. Fawcett's letter to the Chairman of the Company unopened here to them and to say that it will accede to the obligatory clauses of the telegraph Concession of 1875 in regard to their new line between Hongkong & Shanghai,

Inasmuch however as the stipulation Condition is a new one and therefore is not covered by the phrase "usual Conditions" contained in your letter of the 29th March last, which was used in the concession giving to the company.

His Lordship considers that it cannot be insisted upon if Directors are reluctant to accept it.

His Lordship would be glad to be accurately informed what are
