I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to transmit to you, for the perusal of the Earl of Derby, extracts from a letter from the Commander-in-Chief in China, dated the 22nd October last, No. 469, stating that the "Espoir" returned to Hong Kong from Canton with the Prisoner Logan lodged at the Government Goal at Victoria on the 3rd October.
