Charge of Murder and Cutting with intent to wound within the jurisdiction of the British Consul at Canton.

On the 12th, 19th, 20th, and 30th November 1883.

Mr. A.B. Johnson, Crown Solicitor; Mr. C. Evens, Officers of Chinese Government; Mr. Wilson of Brereton Norton Deacon for Defendants.

Mr. Johnson. Prisoners are charged with murder in the Chinese Empire.

James Haldane Stewart-Lockhart states: I am Assistant Colonial Secretary.

I produce a further communication which this Government has received from officers of the Chinese Government, dated 6th December 1883.

These documents were forwarded by the Magistrate by the Governor's order to issue warrants. Certified translation of currents A, B, C, D, E were also forwarded by St. M. Consul at Canton.
