I have seen Mr. Julian Pauncefote about this, he doubts the Raimondi version & thinks that we must uphold the treaty. I leave the question raised by Mr. Raimondi to be referred to the China Consul (for Charles' are unset I do not know) - Refer to F.O. asking what action should be taken.
