The former was done; hence when my recommendation was forwarded, it was due to the oversight of the Inspector of Schools and consequently lack of knowledge, for had I known of it, I should then have laid my claims before the Government and should have got, I am sure, as favourable a consideration as the other officers did. This then shows that it was through no fault of mine but oversight of the Government.
Now by the closing of the Normal School, I am permitted to return to the Central School.
But as my former post has been filled up and all the pupils in the sixth Master class confirmed, it seems impossible for me to take it, although I was verbally informed by the Inspector of Schools, then head of the Educational Department, that I should do so, in the event of the Normal School closing, for the reasons stated in the paragraphs above, this was prevented).
