The Sisters are getting very old, overcrowded and unhealthy. Three to five years is the term of usefulness of the youngest and healthiest of the Sisters, and at the end of that time their health is utterly broken, mainly for want of proper accommodation.

I, the Sister, have had some opportunity of putting up new and suitable buildings. They have ground of their own, a charitable gift, and some $7,000 in hand. They want nearly $10,000 more to enable them to put up the simplest edifice that will suit. The plans have been submitted and approved by the Government.

The Sisters approach the Governor with confidence. They submit that they have done and are doing good useful work for the Colony, that the Colony would have to do it for itself at a large expense if it was not done by the Institution. They entreat him to grant them towards the construction of building the help they require, and they will ever remember him in their prayers.

I have to,

(Signed) Sister Pant de la Asia.
